Description: How many times a day do you catch yourself thinking about something other than what you are doing? This state of mindlessness creates stress, increases feelings of anxiety and negatively affects our physical health. Discover how the practice of mindfulness can help you re-energize, de-stress and bring more joy into your life. Pam will lead you through three mindfulness exercises that you can easily practice on your own and teach your patients.

Program Goals: The goal of this educational activity is to provide nurses with an understanding of the practice of mindfulness as it relates to managing stress and promoting health and to allow an opportunity to experience three mindfulness practices that nurses can integrate into their day and teach to their patients.
Program Objectives:
1. Learner will be able to compare and contrast mindfulness and mindlessness.
2. Learner will be able to describe three experiential mindfulness activities that could be used in patient education.
3. Learner will be able to identify at least three benefits of mindfulness.
